Romeo Doubs, a wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers, recently discussed his experiences with quarterback Jordan Love and made an exciting announcement ahead of the 2024 NFL season. During a charity event for Tricia’s Troops Cancer Connection, Doubs expressed his enthusiasm for playing with Love, highlighting the strong connection they developed once Love took over as the starting quarterback. Doubs shared that his reps started with Love rather than Aaron Rodgers, emphasizing Love’s continuous progression and focus on the present.
Doubs has been a significant player for the Packers, improving his performance in his second NFL season. In 2023, Doubs recorded 59 receptions for 674 yards and eight touchdowns, showing a notable improvement from his rookie season stats of 42 receptions for 425 yards and three touchdowns. This growth was partly due to the rapport he built with Love, which began when Doubs traveled to California to train with him following Rodgers’ trade to the New York Jets.
Additionally, Doubs announced his participation in the NFL’s “My Cause, My Cleats” campaign. This initiative allows players to promote and raise funds for charities of their choice through customized cleats. Doubs chose to support Tricia’s Troops Cancer Connection, a charity founded by Tricia Wright, who was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer in 2010. The organization was created to provide support to cancer patients and their families, a mission that continues even after Tricia’s passing in 2012.
Doubs’ involvement in this campaign underscores his commitment to making a positive impact off the field, aligning with the values of the charity that supports those affected by cancer.
