After Pep Guardiola substituted him at the break in Saturday’s loss to Wolves, Matheus Nunes has now delivered a message to the Manchester City supporters.
The Portuguese international made his first appearance at Molineux since going on strike in August to compel a £53 million transfer to the Etihad Stadium.
Before the 25-year-old’s afternoon was over after only 45 minutes when Oscar Bobb replaced him, Wolves supporters made their views known by booing him at every touch.
Matheus Nunes has already posted a message to the Manchester City supporters on Instagram.

What’s the premise?
Well, to put it mildly, it was a terrible afternoon for both Manchester City and the Rio de Janeiro-born maestro as Hwang Hee-chan’s goal and an own goal from Ruben Dias handed the Citizens their first Premier League loss of the year.
The 27th player for Manchester City wrote: “We will keep working like always and come back stronger.”
We don’t like these posts because we believe that players should speak up on the field rather than online.
In reality, comments like this one from Nunes are exactly the kind of stuff we now get on a weekly basis from the majority of the Manchester United team, which says it all.
Manchester City will benefit from Matheus Nunes.
After his performance on Saturday, some people might be questioning Nunes.
We should be patient with the Portugal international, though, as Guardiola always allows his new acquisitions plenty of time to adjust to his high expectations.
Nunes demonstrated his skill as a midfielder during his time at Sporting CP and Wolves, so after he adjusts to life under Guardiola, we wouldn’t be surprised if he ranks among the best in the Premier League.
