General manager Brian Gutekunst has unveiled the team’s ambitious strategy for Nixon, evident in the significant three-year, $18 million contract extension offered to him this offseason. The intention is to integrate Nixon more deeply into the defensive lineup, beyond his roles as a return specialist and a reliable backup for the defense.
