REPORT: GREEN BAY PACKERS FAIL TO SECURE STAR KEY FREE AGENTS DUE TO….

The Green Bay Packers’ approach in the 2024 free agency season seemed promising initially with significant signings like Xavier McKinney and Josh Jacobs, while also securing key players like AJ Dillon and Keisean Nixon. However, their momentum has waned as the offseason progresses, especially in addressing crucial positions such as safety, cornerback, and notably, linebacker.

Despite possessing Quay Walker, their 2022 first-round pick who has shown promise as a potential starting linebacker but struggles with consistency, the Packers’ linebacker unit lacks the necessary experience and pedigree. With quality linebackers being swiftly acquired by other teams, Green Bay finds itself facing challenges in fortifying this area of their roster.

One notable missed opportunity for the Packers was Jerome Baker, who was drafted in the third round by the Miami Dolphins in 2018. Baker consistently delivered strong performances throughout his initial six-year tenure with the Dolphins. Now 27 and entering free agency, Baker opted for a one-year, $7 million deal with the Seattle Seahawks, bypassing an opportunity to bolster Green Bay’s linebacker corps.

The Packers must now explore alternative options to shore up their linebacker position, potentially turning to the remaining free agent pool or looking towards the upcoming NFL Draft for solutions. However, with quality linebackers in high demand, the challenge for Green Bay remains formidable as they seek to address this critical area of need.
