DONE DAEL: Toronto Maple Leafs have inked forward McMann to a two-year contract extension….

The Toronto Maple Leafs made an official announcement on Wednesday revealing their decision to extend center Bobby McMann’s contract for an additional two years. McMann’s contract extension comes with an average annual value of $1.35 million. This move comes just in time as McMann was on track to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Throughout the current season, McMann has showcased his skills, tallying 10 goals and eight assists, totaling 18 points over 40 games. Despite going undrafted after completing his collegiate career at Colgate in 2019-20, McMann’s talent caught the attention of the Maple Leafs organization. In April 2020, he joined them as a free agent.

Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 210 pounds, McMann brings both size and skill to the forward position. Prior to his NHL journey, he amassed an impressive record in the American Hockey League, recording 49 goals and 22 assists, totaling 71 points across 118 games with the Maple Leafs’ affiliate team.

Although McMann’s path to the NHL was unconventional, his determination and performance have earned him opportunities at the highest level of professional hockey. Last season, he made his NHL debut, playing in 10 games and securing one assist.

With this contract extension, the Maple Leafs demonstrate their confidence in McMann’s abilities and their commitment to his continued development within the organization.
