According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United stars Harry Maguire and Mason Mount will make their injury comebacks for the Red Devils’ Carabao Cup match against Crystal Palace.
On September 26, Palace will go to Old Trafford for the third round of the domestic competition. The Red Devils enter the match after defeating Burnley away from home in the Premier League during the weekend.
Prior to Bruno Fernandes’ spectacular goal just before halftime at Turf Moor, United had a losing skid before picking up three points.
Mount has had a difficult start to the season for Man United and has missed the last few weeks of play after suffering a hamstring injury in last month’s 2-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur.
Regarding Maguire, he was injured and unable to travel to Burnley for the Champions League loss against Bayern Munich.
The MEN, however, reports that Mount and Maguire will both be included in the team for Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup match against Palace after pushing up their recovery processes in practice.
The injury crisis at United
Due to a defensive injury issue, Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof will start for United against Vincent Kompany’s squad. Raphael Varane only made his return to action at Turf Moor after missing the previous several matches due to a fitness issue, joining Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, and Raphael Shaw on the sidelines.
Although Maguire lost favor under ten Hag, his return will still be a positive for the Man Utd manager since it gives him another key defensive option.
