Serbian coach and former player Dejan Milojević, who was in his third season with the Warriors, has passed away at the age of 46. Milojević suffered a heart attack during a private dinner with the Golden State team ahead of their game against the Utah Jazz. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr expressed deep sorrow over Milojević’s sudden demise, highlighting his positive spirit and contributions to the team.
Milojević, who aided the Warriors in clinching the 2022 NBA championship, previously served as head coach for KK Budućnost in Montenegro and KK Mega Basket in Serbia. He also worked with NBA Summer League teams such as the Atlanta Hawks, San Antonio Spurs, and Houston Rockets. Additionally, Milojević coached Nikola Jokić during his early career.
The NBA postponed the game in light of Milojević’s passing, recognizing the impact on the Warriors organization. The league will announce a new date for the game in the future.
