5 Facts On Packers Coach Matt LaFleur You Might Not Know

The Green Bay Packers have effectively managed their quarterback succession plan twice, transitioning seamlessly from Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers, and now from Rodgers to Jordan Love. As they navigate this crucial transition, the organization is also preparing for a leadership change at the executive level.

Mark Murphy, who has served as president and CEO of the Packers since 2007, is approaching the mandatory retirement age of 70. With Murphy set to turn 69 in July, speculation is rife in Green Bay about his successor.

According to reports from Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, there is a strong belief within the organization that Ed Policy will assume the role of CEO and team president in 2025. Policy, 53, boasts a diverse background in sports administration, having previously worked in executive positions within the Arena Football League and the NFL before joining the Packers in 2021.

Policy’s promotion would ensure continuity within the Packers’ leadership structure, mirroring the relationship Murphy had with general manager Brian Gutekunst and head coach Matt LaFleur. This move underscores the team’s commitment to stability and familiarity as they navigate significant changes on and off the field.
