Eagles safety Sydney Brown shares injury update

Philadelphia Eagles rookie safety Sydney Brown underwent successful ACL surgery over the weekend.

“ACL Surgery done,” Brown wrote under his post.

“Onto the next phase of this journey!

“A big thanks to @chrisdodson5 & his team for making my procedure run smoothly.”

Brown Expected to Return for 2024 NFL Training Camp

Brown was carted off of the field in the first quarter of the Eagles’ regular-season finale against the New York Giants.

His late season-ending injury caused him to miss Philly’s playoff run, though he didn’t miss much as they lost 32-9 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round.

Recovery time from ACL surgery is roughly six months, which means Brown should be ready to roll by the time training camp starts at the end of July and that’s his goal.

“That’s my mindset,” Brown said, via NBC Sports’ Dave Zangaro. “And if I can make that happen, I can make it happen. If not, then Week 1, 100%.”

The Eagles drafted Brown out of Illinois in the third-round pick of the 2023 NFL Draft. It didn’t take long for him to adjust to the pro level as he appeared in 14 games (five starts), registering 45 tackles, three passes defended, one forced fumble and an interception that he returned for a 99-yard touchdown.
