Old Alabama QB graphic goes viral after Jalen Hurts, Eagles get eliminated.
Hurts was the last Alabama QB standing before his Eagles were crushed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 32-9 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla.
After the Eagles’ loss to close out Wild Card Weekend, fans on X revived a Bleacher Report graphic from last April that showed four Alabama QBs — Hurts, Mac Jones, Tua Tagovailoa, and Bryce Young — all standing side-by-side.
Fans on X had a field day clowning the post for turning out to be wildly inaccurate.
The post was uploaded during the 2023 NFL Draft after Young was selected by the Panthers with the first overall pick.
During that time, Hurts was coming off a Super Bowl appearance. Tagovailoa was recovering from an injury-riddled season but still managed to get an MVP vote. Jones was slated for a bounce-back third season after a sophomore slump.
Alabama QBs weren’t exactly “dominating” but they at least had four starters in the NFL coming into the season. However, the year could not have gone worse for all four Crimson Tide alumni.
Young has been vastly outplayed by second overall pick CJ Stroud in a season that led to the firing of both Young’s head coach and general manager.
Hurts’ Eagles suffered one of the worst midseason collapses in recent memory after going 10-1 to start the year.
Tagovailoa went viral on Saturday after asking Patrick Mahomes, the QB that eliminated him from the playoffs, for his jersey. The Dolphins QB didn’t even get the jersey.
Jones was benched for Bailey Zappe in a season wherein he might have been caught in the middle of a cold war between Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick.
Current Alabama QB Jalen Milroe may have made the right decision to stay in school for another year.

An Arizona state law may have played a significant role in Arizona losing head coach Jedd Fisch to the coaching carousel.
Fisch left Arizona after three seasons to replace Kalen DeBoer at Washington. DeBoer was chosen from Alabama’s short list of candidates to replace the retiring Nick Saban.
Fisch signed a 7-year contract with Washington that would pay him $7.75 million annually. The 47-year-old coach earned just $3.25 million in base salary with Arizona last season.
Washington not only gave Fisch a significant raise per annum, but they also signed him to a contract length that would have been illegal in the state of Arizona.
Given that Fisch worked for the University of Arizona, which is a state public school, he was considered a government employee. State laws indicate that government employees can only be signed to a contract of up to five years.
Arizona has also been dealing with a $240 million “budget shortfall” that has severely limited the school’s financial spending power in all aspects — including sports.
It’s hard to blame Fisch for taking Washington’s deal, which offered more money and guaranteed years than Arizona could given both legal and financial limitations.
However, the logic behind the decision doesn’t take away the sting of losing Fisch. Arizona fans watched Fisch turn around their program in the span of three seasons. Good times appeared to be ahead under Fisch as the team debuts in the Big 12 next year.
The Wildcats just recorded their first 10-win season in nearly a decade. Arizona finished their 2023 campaign on a 7-game win streak, including victories over five ranked opponents in that span.
Fisch made significant strides with Arizona’s football program after inheriting a team that finished 0-5 in the COVID-shortened 2020 season. The team went 1-11 in Fisch’s first year, 5-7 in his second, and 10-3 in his third.

The Alabama Crimson Tide have already lost one notable player from their College Football Playoff team, but it wasn’t to the NFL Draft.
Bama wide receiver Isaiah Bond has decided to transfer to the Texas Longhorns. Bond shared a photo on his X account Sunday to reveal the move. He captioned the photo of him and Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian by writing, “official.” He added the Hook ’em Horns hand symbol as well.
Texas and Alabama ordinarily wouldn’t be regarded as rivals, but that’s changing.
Texas is joining the SEC beginning in 2024 as part of the conference’s expansion to 16 teams. The Longhorns and Tide are not scheduled to face each other next season. But both teams made the CFP semifinals and are regarded as national championship contenders. So Bond is leaving one college football powerhouse for another.
Bond had a team-leading 48 receptions for the Crimson Tide in the 2023 season. He finished with 668 yards and 4 touchdowns, including the winning catch to beat Auburn in the Iron Bowl.
