Thiago Silva, a star for Chelsea, might be Mauricio Pochettino’s problem behind the scenes.
Thiago Silva, a star for Chelsea, apparently crosses the line occasionally in practice and has no trouble sharing his thoughts on Mauricio Pochettino’s or any of his past coaches’ strategies. Since joining the team in 2020, the seasoned defender has undoubtedly been the Blues’ most reliable performer, but recent acts have led some to question his position at Stamford Bridge.
Silva, 39, has been a defensive stalwart under Pochettino, working alongside Axel Disasi and Levi Colwill. He has been vocal on social media in the wake of Chelsea’s dismal start to the season, which has seen them fall to 14th place in the Premier League standings with just one victory through their first five games.
One Chelsea fan wrote to Silva on Instagram after their unimpressive home loss to Nottingham Forest and complained that Silva was being “shoehorned” into the lineup. Then, in an unexpected move, he replied, “If you look closely at the game, my friend, we are playing with a line of 4!”
Then, on Tuesday, he exposed himself to the fury of Chelsea supporters by mentioning the Champions League account on X (formerly known as Twitter).
