“I’m extremely impressed with James Harden,” Isiah Thomas said. “Not by the way he’s playing, but by the way he’s’ made his teammates fall in love with him. They really like playing with James Harden. James likes giving up the ball and he’s scoring.”
One specific instance that Thomas really liked was the moment when Harden drained multiple threes against the Indiana Pacers. A moment where Harden made snow angels on the court and his teammates all rallied behind him.
“When he was hot the other night and he made the threes and then he fell on the floor and he made the snow angels, I liked seeing him that happy, but what was really more impressive was the teammates who gathered around him, happy for him because he’s playing well,” Thomas said. “This is rubbing off on the Clippers, they’ve got great chemistry right now, they’re playing well.”
After going undefeated the entire month of December for 21 straight days, the LA Clippers finally had their 9-game winning streak snapped by the Oklahoma City Thunder. Now, they hope to start a new one against the Boston Celtics on Saturday.
Los Angeles Clippers guard James Harden put on a show against the Indiana Pacers and Clippers stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George thoroughly enjoyed it.
Harden finished with 35 points and nine assists in 28 minutes while shooting 12-of-16 from the field, 8-of-11 from beyond the arc and 3-of-3 from the free-throw line.
Added George: “That’s vintage, that’s James right there. I remember those days of having to match up against that. And once he gets going, he’s the best at creating space and creating off the dribble. So you know, watching it on his side now, it’s fun to watch.”
The Clippers are 16-10 on the season. They are in sixth place in the Western Conference standings. Harden and Co. have won eight games in a row.
“Trying to win the game, man,” Harden said. “Every game it’s the same. I think as a team, we’re finally catching a rhythm. Trying to understand who we are as a unit. And you know, come in with the mindset of doing whatever it takes to win the game.”
