Breaking news;9Mets $16 million All-Star Predicted to Ditch Queens for Reunion With Former Team………..

Recent reports suggest that New York Mets’ left-handed pitcher José Quintana, who earned $16 million over two years, may depart Queens to reunite with the Kansas City Royals. The Athletic’s Jim Bowden predicts that Quintana will sign with the Royals this winter, noting that he would be a solid replacement for Brady Singer, whom the Royals traded to the Reds in November. Bowden emphasizes that Quintana, turning 36 in January, would be a perfect fit for the Royals’ rotation.

Quintana had a solid season with the Mets, posting a 3.75 ERA with 135 strikeouts over 31 starts. Over the last three years, he has maintained a 3.39 ERA in 76 starts. Despite his contributions, the Mets’ primary focus appears to be re-signing first baseman Pete Alonso, potentially leaving Quintana open to exploring other opportunities.

The Royals, seeking to bolster their starting pitching depth after trading Singer, view Quintana as an ideal candidate to fill the void. His veteran presence and consistent performance could provide stability to Kansas City’s rotation as they aim to remain competitive in the upcoming season.
