The New York Mets are set to unveil a new alternate road jersey during Amazin’ Day at Citi Field this Saturday. The blue pullover jersey features “New York” written across the chest with an orange outline, reminiscent of the team’s 1987 design. It also includes a V-neck collar and the franchise’s iconic skyline logo on the sleeve. Mets star Francisco Lindor was among the first to try on the new uniform, which is expected to replace the current blue home alternate, as MLB teams are limited to five jerseys.
This unveiling comes after a successful season where the Mets reached the National League Championship Series and made a significant offseason move by signing Juan Soto to a record-breaking 15-year, $765 million contract. The addition of Soto, one of the biggest stars in baseball, has generated excitement among fans and is expected to bolster the team’s performance in the upcoming season.
Amazin’ Day is an all-day, citywide extravaganza for Mets fans, featuring events at iconic NYC institutions, community-focused activities, and giveaways throughout the day. Fans wearing Mets gear will gain access to several events and experiences across the city. The Mets aim to bring their infectious energy to the streets of New York City, surprising and delighting fans with pop-ups, free access to venues, and opportunities to give back to the community.
