Atlanta Braves have six Silver Slugger finalists and are nominated for team award.
With the Texas Rangers concluding the 2023 season last night with a World Series championship, their first in franchise history, MLB has moved on to award season, announcing the Silver Slugger finalists for 2023.
As expected, the Atlanta Braves historic 2023 offense is well-represented, with six individual nominations plus a team nomination.
3-4ths of Atlanta’s infield, 1B Matt Olson, 2B Ozzie Albies, and 3B Austin Riley, all earned nods, as well as outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr, designated hitter Marcell Ozuna, and catcher Sean Murphy.
Major League Baseball will announce the awards next Thursday, November 9th, during a one-hour telecast at 6 PM ET on MLB Network.
Here are all of Atlanta’s nominees and their competition at each position:
First Base: Matt Olson, Freddie Freeman of the Dodgers, Pete Alonso of the Mets
Second Base: Ozzie Albies, Luis Arraez of the Marlins, Ketel Marte of the Diamondbacks
