After being observed back on the turf, Taiwo Awoniyi, a striker for Nottingham Forest, appears to be on track to make a comeback. Due to a new injury, the Nigerian was unable to travel to Crystal Palace and will be out for one month.

The 26-year-old is essential to how Steve Cooper wants his squad to perform. Awoniyi was on pace to break the Premier League record for consecutive games scored in at one point during the first three games of the 2023–24 season.

His injury occurs just as Forest is trying to put together a stable lineup. The Reds will thus be hoping that the fact that he has been seen walking on grass again is good news about his injury.

Awoniyi observed returning to practice

Although it appears that the athlete is not quite back in full contact practice just yet, this is unquestionably a positive development. Cooper will be eager for Awoniyi to return as soon as possible because he is an essential member of the Forest team.

Awoniyi may be seen clearly running alongside the action in a recent club video that shows a training session behind the scenes. It’s a good move in the right direction, and maybe he can pick up where he left off shortly.

Awoniyi’s game is all-action, but since joining Forest, he has developed a few aches and pains. The Reds will be hoping that this time is different because the team’s performance has fallen off when he hasn’t played.

Forest is well-stocked, but Awoniyi must return.

Chris Wood and Divock Origi are two players who were signed to provide backup to Awoniyi. The Nigerian will be the number one striker at the club but there are options available to Cooper now.

However, the guy who Steve Hodge described as “extraordinary” earlier this season is a huge asset to Forest. He is a player without mercy and has often shown that he can find the goal.

Despite his most recent setback due to injury, Awoniyi is certainly making significant progress. The striker should soon be back on the field at the Garibaldi and harassing defenders in the Premier League.
