NASCAR penalized Big Machine Racing and Parker Kligerman 20 points each for an L1 violation discovered at Michigan International Speedway ¹. The team modified the car’s spoiler, violating section 14.4.10.A of the Xfinity Series Rule Book ¹.
NASCAR also docked the team and Kligerman five playoff points and fined crew chief Patrick Donahue $25,000 ¹ ² ³. The penalty leaves Kligerman 16 points above the Xfinity Series playoff cutline with five races left in the regular season ¹.
Kligerman finished 11th at Michigan and scored 27 points ¹. He has two top fives and nine top 10s in 2024 ². Kligerman is now just 16 points above the playoff cutline with five regular season races remaining ⁴.
Kligerman occupies the 11th playoff spot ⁴. He has yet to find Victory Lane this season ⁴. Kligerman finished 10th in the standings last season ⁴.
Kligerman said earlier this season he was excited about the progress they’ve made as a team in year two of being together ⁴. He mentioned that they’ve had a lot of issues on pit road this year ⁴.
Kligerman is having another solid campaign with Big Machine ⁴. He finished a season best P4 at the Chicago Street Race last month ⁴.
