BIG Congratulation ::::Florida State Wins First-Ever ACC Women’s Golf Championship…..

Florida State University’s women’s golf team achieved a historic milestone by securing their first-ever Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Women’s Golf Championship. In a closely contested match at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina, the second-seeded Seminoles triumphed over fourth-seeded Wake Forest with a 3-2 victory

The championship match was marked by resilience and determination. Junior All-American Mirabel Ting gave FSU an early lead with a commanding 5&4 win over Wake’s Chloe Kovelesky. However, Wake Forest responded with victories from Anne-Sterre den Dunnen and Macy Pate, putting the Seminoles behind 2-1. Facing elimination, senior captain Kaylah Williams delivered a clutch birdie on the 18th hole to win her match 1UP, leveling the overall score. The decisive point came from freshman Alexandra Gazzoli, who secured a 1UP victory by capitalizing on her opponent’s bogey on the final hole

This championship holds profound significance beyond the sport. During the tournament, the team learned of a tragic shooting on FSU’s campus that resulted in fatalities and injuries. Head coach Amy Bond emphasized the team’s unity and dedication, stating, “We played for the people at home.” The Seminoles channeled their emotions into their performance, demonstrating remarkable composure under pressure times—but also earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals. The team will await the Selection Show on April 23 to determine their next opponents, as they continue their pursuit of national success
