LOCK DOWN:::4-Star Quarterback Kevin Sperry Summoned After Refusing to Play for Florida State Seminoles Due to ……check details…

Kevin Sperry, a four-star quarterback from Denton Guyer High School in Texas, has officially signed with Florida State University (FSU) for the 2025 recruiting class. This decision follows his decommitment from the University of Oklahoma, where he had been pledged since March 2023

Sperry’s commitment to FSU comes at a crucial time for the Seminoles, who have faced challenges in quarterback recruitment and development under head coach Mike Norvell. Since 2019, FSU has seen multiple high school quarterback recruits decommit or transfer, leading to reliance on the transfer portal with mixed resultsan offer. Despite not visiting the campus in nearly two years, Sperry maintained communication with Norvell and quarterbacks coach Tony Tokarz. He expressed concerns about the situation at Oklahoma, particularly after the dismissal of offensive coordinator Seth Littrell, which influenced his decision to reopen discussions with FSU

In his senior season at Guyer High School, Sperry demonstrated his dual-threat capabilities, passing for 2,129 yards and 22 touchdowns while rushing for 787 yards and five touchdowns . His performance aligns with FSU’s offensive strategy, which incorporates a mix of run-pass options and pro-style elements, similar to systems used in the NFL.

Sperry’s commitment provides a significant boost to FSU’s 2025 recruiting class, which had experienced several decommitments amid a challenging season. His addition reflects the coaching staff’s ongoing efforts to secure and develop talent, aiming to restore the program’s competitive standing in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
