Kris Bryant, the Colorado Rockies’ designated hitter, has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to lumbar degenerative disc disease, marking his ninth stint on the IL since signing a seven-year, $182 million contract with the team in 2022. This chronic lower back condition has significantly impacted Bryant’s availability, limiting him to just 159 out of a possible 486 games over three seasons. During his time on the field, he has posted a .244 batting average with 17 home runs and 61 RBIs across 170 games.

 

Bryant’s tenure with the Rockies has been marred by various injuries, including plantar fasciitis, a bone bruise in his foot, heel issues, a broken finger, and multiple back strains.
