Breaking news:Two Free Agents Red Sox Still Could Target During 2025 Spring Training………

As of February 19, 2025, the Boston Red Sox have made significant moves during the offseason, notably signing third baseman Alex Bregman to a three-year, $120 million contract. This deal includes opt-out options after each season, providing flexibility for both Bregman and the team. Bregman’s addition brings a potent right-handed bat and Gold Glove defense to the lineup, addressing the team’s need for offensive balance and infield stability.

Despite this acquisition, the Red Sox are still exploring opportunities to strengthen their roster as Spring Training progresses. One area of focus is the outfield, where the team seeks to add a powerful right-handed hitter. Free agent Teoscar Hernández remains a viable target. Hernández has a history of success at Fenway Park, boasting a .282 batting average with 14 home runs and 44 RBIs in 45 career games. His familiarity with the ballpark and consistent offensive production make him an attractive option to enhance the Red Sox’s outfield depth and lineup potency.

Another potential addition is relief pitcher Tanner Scott. The Red Sox have shown interest in bolstering their bullpen, and Scott’s impressive performance last season, highlighted by a 1.75 ERA and 84 strikeouts over 72 innings, makes him a compelling candidate. His ability to deliver in high-leverage situations could provide the team with a reliable late-inning option, addressing a critical need identified during the offseason.
