Robert Suarez, on the other hand, has established himself as a reliable reliever for the Padres. In the 2024 season, he recorded 36 saves with a 2.77 ERA, showcasing his effectiveness in high-leverage situations. However, with a contract that includes $10 million owed in 2025 and a potential additional $16 million if he doesn’t opt out, the Padres might consider trading him to manage payroll constraints.
The potential acquisition of both King and Suarez would significantly bolster the Red Sox’s pitching depth, addressing both starting and relief needs.
