Hendrick Motorsports announced that they will not appeal the disqualification of Alex Bowman’s No. 48 car from the NASCAR Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Bowman initially finished second, but post-race inspection revealed issues with the car’s rear fascia, leading to his disqualification.
The disqualification dropped Bowman to last place in the official standings, impacting his playoff chances. Hendrick Motorsports initially considered appealing but ultimately decided against it, accepting the penalty.
“We understand and respect the decision,” said Jeff Andrews, Hendrick Motorsports’ vice president of competition. “We’ll move forward and focus on the remaining races.” Bowman remains optimistic, seeking redemption in upcoming events to secure his spot in the playoffs.
