WNBA Viewership Dips Without Clark, but Still Setting Records. Check reason

The WNBA has experienced a slight dip in viewership since Caitlin Clark’s injury, but the league is still on track to set record-breaking numbers for the season. According to Nielsen ratings, WNBA viewership averaged 379,000 viewers per game on ESPN, ESPN2, and CBS, down from 414,000 viewers per game during Clark’s playing time. Despite the decline, the WNBA has seen a 20% increase in viewership compared to the same period last season.

The league’s overall growth is attributed to the excitement generated by Clark’s impressive rookie season, as well as other talented players like Angel Reese and Aliyah Boston. The WNBA has also expanded its reach through social media and streaming platforms, with games and highlights receiving millions of views on platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. Additionally, the league’s partnership with ESPN and CBS has helped increase exposure and attract new fans.

The WNBA’s record-breaking pace is expected to continue, with the playoffs and Finals likely to draw large audiences. Clark’s anticipated return to the court will likely provide an additional boost to viewership.
