WNBA Superstar Alyssa Thomas Blasts Indiana Fever Fans for ‘Racial Comments’

 

Connecticut Sun forward Alyssa Thomas spoke out against Indiana Fever fans who directed racial comments toward her during a recent game. Thomas, a seven-time WNBA All-Star, took to social media to express her disappointment and frustration. “I’ve dealt with heckling before, but tonight’s racial comments were unacceptable,” Thomas stated.

Thomas’s statement sparked widespread support from the WNBA community, players, and fans. “We stand with Alyssa Thomas,” tweeted the Connecticut Sun organization. “There is no place for racism or hate speech in our game or society.” WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert also released a statement condemning the incident. “We take allegations of racial comments seriously and will work with the Fever to ensure a safe environment for all players.”
