Aces sign centre to a seven-day deal, adding depth.

  • The Aces are trying to add depth again.

The back-to-back WNBA champions signed center Queen Egbo to a seven-day contract, general manager Natalie Williams announced Monday.

Since the Indiana Fever selected Egbo, 24, 10th overall in the 2022 selection, she has participated in games for four different teams. Before the trade deadline last month, the Aces (20-12) made no trades, and Williams stated that the team would need a “special situation” to fill its 12th roster place. Flexibility is provided via a seven-day contract, which is only available during the second half of the season. Guard Jackie Young was rested by Aces coach Becky Hammon during the team’s 83-72 victory over the Atlanta Dream on Friday. On Sunday, Hammon expressed her hope to eventually give standout forward A’ja Wilson a break.
