Once a powerful Caitlin Clark took a stand, Nancy Lieberman challenged fans to message her.

After a 100-93 win over the Dallas Wings, the Indiana Fever (17-16) now have a winning record for the first time in five years. They also have the best record in the WNBA after the Olympic break, sitting at 6-1. Rookie CaitliClark is a big reason why the Fever are finding so much success, and she proved that yet again on Sunday by scoring 28 points and dishing out 12 assists.

Former women’s basketball star Nancy Lieberman was commentating the Fever vs. Wings battle on NBA TV. During the game, she declared Clark as the Rookie of the Year and told fans to message her on social media if they disagreed. “By far, she’s going to be rookie of the year,” Lieberman said. “If anybody thinks she’s not, feel free to call me or hit me on Instagram or Twitter… She’s in the MVP conversation.”

The battle for the ROTY has come down to Clark and Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese. Both players are deserving of the award, but Clark has taken a clear lead with her and the Fever’s recent play.

For the season, the former Iowa Hawkeyes star is averaging 18.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and a league-leading 8.3 assists. She also became the first rookie in WNBA history to record a triple-double and has broken numerous WNBA records along the way.
