After Caitlin Clark received a significant WNBA honour, the Indiana Fever sent a strong message about her.

Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark continues the scorching start to her WNBA career, taking home another league honor and earning some praise from her team. Clark came out of the extended Paris Olympics break on a hot streak, leading her team to a 2-1 record in the first week back while scoring 20 or more points in all three contests.

On Tuesday, the WNBA named Clark the Eastern Conference Player of the Week. The team noted in a press release that Clark averaged 25.0 points with 9.0 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game in the last week while also setting a slew of records. “Last week, Clark became the franchise rookie leader in made 3-point field goals with 81, passed Ticha Penicheiro’s record of 224 assists to become the WNBA all-time rookie leader in assists and also joined Aliyah Boston and Tamika Catchings as the only players in franchise history to score at least 500 points in a rookie season,” the team noted. After the honor was announced, the Fever took to social media to share some praise of Clark and her “fire” performance.

Caitlin Clark is the @WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week! she scored 20+ points in all three of our games,” the team shared on X, ending the post with a fire emoji.

The Fever guard already earned WNBA Rookie of the Month honors in May and July this season, and the Player of the Week honor could put her in line for her third award of the season.
