The Sky’s first-year star has struggled in the efficiency category. She’s currently shooting 18.2% from three-point range and 38.7% from the field. WNBA fans all over social media have been bashing Reese’s talent for quite some time, but it seems one account has called one major Caitlin Clark issue into question.
Clark fans are now being interrogated for their misjudgment of Reese. The Sky rookie has seen her fair share of inconsistencies, but Clark hasn’t been perfect.
The Fever rookie currently leads the WNBA in average turnovers with 5.5 per game. She has a hefty lead ahead of the second player on the list, which is Connecticut Sun star Alyssa Thomas, with an average of 3.8 turnovers per game. WNBA fans shared their input on the subject, reviewing the growing pains of Clark and Reese. “No you’re right, I do think they both have a lot of room to grow,” explained one fan. “Clark definitely needs to get better with the ball. The full court pass, just like in college isn’t going great. Reese needs to finish a lot better for sure.”
“I will admit upfront I am a clark supporter but I feel the context in which angel reese is criticized this harshly is when people try to put her on caitlin’s level, which she isn’t on,” mentioned one fan. “Regardless, when having a comparison, both issues should be brought up, Caitlin still ROY tho.”
“True, both have things to improve without a doubt.” said one fan.
“Perfectly put.” commented another.
“I think the goal is improvement.” said another fan.
As fans explained, Caitlin Clark has dealt with struggles of her own. Both players are just 22 years old, so it’s going to take time and effort to improve in their WNBA careers. They may be struggling in specific areas of their game, but they’ve still posted incredible numbers in their first season in the league.
Caitlin Clark is currently averaging 17.9 points and 8.3 assists per game, leading all rookies in both categories and leading the WNBA in average assists. Angel Reese has been great as well, averaging 13.5 points and 12.9 rebounds per game. She’s the only rookie to average a double-double, and she also leads the league in average rebounds.
