Before the game tipped off, Clark spoke with the media, where she gave some insight on her first interaction with the Lynx legend. The rookie explained her first meeting with Moore, revealing that while she was never able to get an autograph or photo with the Minnesota star, she once hugged Moore, and the interaction really impacted her basketball career. “That was one of the most pivotal moments of my entire basketball career, and obviously, as a young girl and loving sports, that meant the world to me,” Clark said. “I didn’t get an autograph. I didn’t get a picture. I got a hug… a lot better than both of those. Pretty special.”
Clark may be early into her WNBA career, but she’s following in the footsteps of an elite player like Moore. She’s been a generational rookie, currently averaging 17.8 points and 8.3 assists per game, leading all rookies in both categories while leading the WNBA in average assists.
Clark will now be able to showcase her skills in front of Moore and the Target Center, furthering her incredible story on the basketball court. The Fever currently stands as the No. 7 seed in the WNBA rankings with a 13-15 record. They’re headed into Minnesota with a full head of steam, riding a two-game win streak.
