After an unimpressive first half from Angel Reese, fans respond with a range of emotions.

After the first 20 minutes of action in Chicago Sky’s game against the Connecticut Sun Friday Night, Angel Reese captured some attention after a poor offensive display. The Sky entered the half down by ten, and Reese, who is in a rookie of the year race alongside Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark.

They have lost two out of their first three games since returning from the Olympic hiatus, and they continue to drop in the standings. Chennedy Carter led the way in the first half with 13 points, five rebounds, and two assists, but in 17 minutes of action, Reese went scoreless in the half on 0-5 shooting from the field. She held a -12 plus/minus.

She did, however, tally eight rebounds in the half, which has been one of her bright spots throughout the season. One of the best in the league in the statistical category. But fans still made their opinions felt. “It happens all the time” A fan said.

When the Sky are down by 20 and she gets 10 points in garbage time the fans will be back talking about generational talent” Another fan said.

Is she supposed to as a rookie forward have a 20/20 game every game?? This is literally proving it’s a TEAM problem, not just her but yall wanna act otherwise.” One more said.

Reese is the fastest player to 20 double-doubles in WNBA history as a rookie and is currently averaging 13.6 points, 12.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.4 steals. However, despite her amazing rookie season, if she wants to get the Sky to the postseason, there remains a lot of work to be done.
