Promising Chicago Bulls Youngster Drops Crucial Injury Update After Team’s $90 Million Investment

With All-Star Guard DeMar DeRozan sent to the Sacramento Kings recently, the Chicago Bulls are now entering a rebuild. As this is happening, the team’s young forward, Patrick Williams, has come forth with a critical update to his injury status.

After a successful college career at Florida State, where he was named ACC Sixth Man of the Year and to the ACC All-Freshman team, Williams declared for the 2020 NBA Draft. He was selected fourth overall by the Chicago Bulls, signing his rookie scale contract with the team in November of 2022

Williams made his NBA debut a month later by putting up 16 points, four rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block in a loss against the Atlanta Hawks. He continued to show promise throughout his rookie season, scoring a season-high 24 points against the Brooklyn Nets in May of 2021.

During the 2021-22 season, Williams suffered a dislocated wrist, which required surgery and sidelined him for several months. He returned to the court in March 2022 and had a strong finish to the season, scoring a career-high 35 points in the regular season finale against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
