while the Bulls received Gray from the San Antonio Spurs and Chris Duarte from the Kings.
It’s not entirely surprising that the Bulls parted ways with Gray as he was a throw-in for the sign-and-trade, and they likely want to use that two-way contract slot for a player on their summer league team.
Currently, the Bulls have Adama Sanogo and Andrew Funk as their two-way contract players heading into next offseason. Sanogo played a little bit with the Bulls late this past season, while Funk only appeared in five games. Both players saw a lot of playing time in the NBA G League with the Windy City Bulls.
As for Gray, the 25-year-old forward doesn’t have a ton of NBA experience as he only played in four games between the Brooklyn Nets and Spurs over the last two years. Most of Gray’s pro ball experience has come in the G League with the Long Island Nets and the Austin Spurs.

Last season with Austin, the former second-round pick averaged 15.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game. The 25-year-old forward will hopefully latch on with a team during the NBA 2K25 Summer League in Las Vegas as he fights for a roster spot.
Meanwhile, the Bulls will continue to look for that third player to take the final two-way slot as they continue summer league play.
