Without a doubt, the rivalry between Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark and Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese is elevating the WNBA as a whole these past few months. For former NFL quarterback and current sports analyst Robert Griffin III, though, the former was incorrectly used by her team in a loss to the latter.
Clark forwent her final season of college eligibility and declared for the 2024 WNBA draft. Clark was widely projected to be the first overall pick, and on April 15th, she was selected by the Indiana Fever.Clark made an immediate impact in her rookie campaign, making her WNBA debut on May 14th. Just 10 days later, she recorded her first professional double-double, helping the Fever claim their first regular season win.On May 28th, Clark etched her name in the record books, becoming the first rookie to post a stat line of 30 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, and 3 blocks in a single game. She also became the fastest rookie to reach 100 points and 50 assists. Clark’s electrifying start earned her WNBA Rookie of the Month honors for May, averaging 17.6 points, 6.6 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per game.
