TRANSFER UPDATE : Iowa Hawkeyes New Additions and Lucy Olsen’s Status Clarified…

I am incredibly blessed and thrilled beyond words to stand here today,” Jensen expressed. “There are many capable individuals in this city and state who could take this role, but I assure you, no one loves this place more than I do.

Jensen also took a moment to acknowledge Lisa Bluder, her mentor for the past 24 years at Iowa. “Thank you for everything you’ve done for women’s basketball,” she said. “Your incredible impact on the sport, and on me personally, has been immense. You believed in me, prepared me, and helped me nurture this dream, making it a reality. I am deeply grateful and love you dearly.

Jensen assured Hawkeye fans that she is committed to maintaining the high standards of Iowa women’s basketball, even after the departure of two of its biggest legends.

“The same vision that I shared with Lisa will continue,” Jensen said. “We aim to perform at the highest level, uphold our integrity and values, and deliver a team that is enjoyable to watch, cheer for, and play for. That commitment will remain unchanged.

A concern for Iowa following Bluder’s retirement was whether Lucy Olsen would honor her commitment to transfer to Iowa for the 2024-25 season. According to David Eickholt of Hawkeye Insider, the Villanova guard will indeed join the Hawkeyes and don the Black and Gold next season.
