Jayden Reed had an impressive rookie season with the Packers and has the potential to become a leading receiver and NFL star in 2024.
As the 2024 NFL season kicks off, the Green Bay Packers lack a clear No. 1 receiver. The question is whether Jayden Reed will have stepped into that prominent role by the end of the season.
According to The 33rd Team, Reed is among seven players highlighted as potential breakout stars this year.
Dan Pizzuta highlighted Jayden Reed as the Packers’ “best receiving option” when the offense gained momentum in the second half of the season. Reed led the team with 64 receptions, amassing 793 yards and 10 total touchdowns, and tied with Romeo Doubs for the most receiving touchdowns at eight.
Additionally, Reed surpassed Sterling Sharpe’s franchise record for most receptions by a rookie.
Last year, General Manager Brian Gutekunst made two trade-backs in the second round before selecting Jayden Reed with the 50th overall pick. Reed was the sixth wide receiver taken in the draft and finished his rookie season ranking sixth in receptions, fifth in yards, second in touchdowns, and fourth in yards per pass route with an average of 2.05.
Reed also stood out among Green Bay’s receivers, leading the team with a catch rate of 68.1 percent and posting a drop rate of only 4.5 percent. These metrics underscore his efficiency and reliability on the field, making him a valuable asset to the Packers’ offense.
