Following his release from Reading FC, Nesta Guinness-Walker shared a heartfelt message of gratitude with the club’s fans. The left-back, one of four first-team players whose contracts were not renewed, took to Instagram to express his appreciation and reflect on his time with the team.
“I want to say thank you to everyone at Reading Football Club as my time at the club comes to an end,” Guinness-Walker wrote.
He acknowledged the positive relationships he had built, saying, “I’ve met some great people and although it didn’t end how I would’ve hoped, I feel honored to have put on the shirt.” His message conveyed a deep respect for the club and its supporters, as he added, “I wish everyone involved at the club the best and look forward to seeing the fans get the club back to where it belongs.”
Guinness-Walker’s journey with Reading FC began in the summer of 2022 when he joined the club on a free transfer after departing AFC Wimbledon. During his tenure with the Royals, he made a notable impact, featuring in 41 games across all competitions. His contributions on the field were significant, although the season presented its challenges.
In the first half of the campaign, Guinness-Walker found his playing time in League One limited to just eight appearances. In search of more opportunities, he was loaned out to Stevenage, where he played 14 matches. This loan spell allowed him to gain valuable match experience and continue his development as a player.
Despite the challenges and the unexpected conclusion to his time at Reading, Guinness-Walker’s message reflected a positive outlook and a sense of gratitude.
