David Bakhtiari, the former All-Pro tackle for the Green Bay Packers, received a positive injury update, indicating he is on track for a 2024 return after missing nearly all of the 2023 season due to a knee injury. After undergoing several knee surgeries, Dr. Brian Cole from Rush University Medical Center noted Bakhtiari’s significant progress post-surgery.
Bakhtiari’s career has been marred by injuries over the past three years, starting with a torn ACL at the end of the 2020 season, which limited him to just 25 games from 2020 to 2023. Following his release by the Packers in March, which saved the team over $20 million in cap space, Bakhtiari is eyeing a comeback.
Despite being 32 and coming off major knee operations, Bakhtiari’s talent as a top NFL tackle makes him an attractive option for teams seeking depth on the offensive line. While unlikely to sign before training camp, his experience and skill could draw interest from teams like the New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders. However, his preference is to join a contending team.
Bakhtiari, who turns 33 in September, is focused on his rehabilitation with the goal of returning to the field for the 2024 season, aiming to continue his impactful NFL career.
