The Washington Commanders are in the process of hiring Detroit Lions executive Brandon Sosna for a prominent front office position, according to NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo, who cited sources on Sunday.
Washington’s search for candidates was selective, interviewing only a few individuals for this role, including former Philadelphia Eagles vice president of football administration, Jake Rosenberg, Garafolo noted.
Brandon Sosna, 31, has served as the Lions’ senior director of football administration since 2022. His responsibilities included strategic planning and salary cap management as the team’s lead contract negotiator, as detailed on the Lions’ official website.
Prior to his tenure with the Lions, Sosna spent three years as the chief of staff for USC football.
This hiring follows a series of significant changes for the Commanders this offseason. Post-2023 season, the Commanders brought on Adam Peters as general manager, appointed Dan Quinn as head coach, and selected Jayden Daniels with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
