A former wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers has publicly criticized Aaron Rodgers for his involvement with a rookie receiver on the New York Jets. This ex-teammate of Rodgers expressed frustration with what he perceives as preferential treatment towards the Jets’ newcomer, Malachi Corley.

Aaron Rodgers has taken an active role in mentoring Corley, even offering him accommodation at his guest house in New Jersey to facilitate chemistry-building. While this gesture may please Jets fans, it has raised eyebrows elsewhere, including among former Packers wide receiver Amari Rodgers.

Amari Rodgers, who shares physical attributes and playing style similarities with Corley, hinted on social media that he did not receive the same level of attention and support from Aaron Rodgers during his time as a rookie. In a tweet that has since been deleted, Amari Rodgers suggested that Corley’s connection with the veteran quarterback could enhance his performance as a rookie.

The comparison to Deebo Samuel, a dynamic receiver, is enticing, but there are concerns regarding Corley’s potential development. Amari Rodgers cautioned against overlooking the risks, drawing parallels to his own struggles in the NFL despite high expectations. Amari Rodgers’ tenure with the Packers was marred by issues such as dropped passes and fumbles, leading to dissatisfaction among fans.

To prevent Corley from facing a similar fate, it is essential for him to demonstrate versatility and effectiveness as a receiver, both horizontally and vertically. While Corley possesses promising traits, he faces competition for playing time from veterans like Allen Lazard. Nonetheless, Corley’s physicality and playmaking abilities could complement the Jets’ receiving corps, alongside emerging talent Garrett Wilson and established deep threat Mike Williams.

Despite Amari Rodgers’ past experiences, it appears that Aaron Rodgers is determined to ensure Corley’s success and avoid repeating history.
