DONE DEAL: Green Bay Packers offer Jordan Love a contract extension in a financial range comparable to that of Justin Herbert’s contract…

According to a report by Jordan Sigler, the Green Bay Packers are anticipated to offer Jordan Love a contract extension in a similar financial range to that of Justin Herbert’s deal. Love recently became eligible for a new contract following his tenure as Aaron Rodgers’ understudy. Last year, the Packers opted not to exercise Love’s option, instead signing him to a one-year extension with $13.5 million guaranteed and potential earnings of up to $22.5 million in incentives for the 2024 season.

Described as a “prove it” deal for Love in 2023, the arrangement saw him lead the youthful Packers team to the Divisional Round, impressively tallying 4,159 passing yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. With Love’s successful performance validating his potential, the Packers now face the task of negotiating a substantial contract extension for him. Love’s agent is expected to leverage his client’s achievements in securing a lucrative deal, akin to the memorable “There’ll Come a Payday” tune from the HBO series Righteous Gemstones.
