The Indiana Fever announced Christie Sides as their latest head coach on Friday. Sides comes with a recent stint as an assistant coach with the Atlanta Dream in 2022 and prior experience as an assistant with the Indiana Fever in 2018 and 2019. She brings a wealth of coaching experience from both collegiate and overseas roles spanning the past twenty years.
Fever President Dr. Allison Barber expressed enthusiasm about Sides’ appointment, citing her extensive experience and successful track record in developing young players. Barber emphasized Sides’ alignment with the Fever’s core values of excellence, competitiveness, and community engagement.
Taking the helm of a franchise that has struggled in recent seasons with an 11-57 record, Sides faces the challenge of revitalizing the team’s performance. Additionally, the Fever hold a 44.2% chance of securing the No. 1 pick in the upcoming 2023 WNBA draft.
