DONE DEAL REPORT: Green Bay Packers Add Another Speedy Wide Receiver to Support Jordan Love..

The Green Bay Packers have made significant moves to bolster Jordan Love’s support system for the upcoming 2024 season. In their draft strategy, emphasis was placed on reinforcing the offensive line and defense, with over 80% of their draft selections (9 out of 11) dedicated to these key areas.

While the draft primarily targeted these positions, the Packers also secured one of the top running backs in the Draft, MarShawn Lloyd. Now, the focus shifts to augmenting the wide receiver corps post-draft.

According to the Packers’ official website, the team has signed wide receivers Julian Hicks and Dimitri Stanley, as well as offensive lineman Lecitus Smith. Additionally, cornerback Anthony Johnson and defensive lineman Deandre Johnson have been released, while wide receiver Thyrick Pitts has been waived/injured. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced these transactions on Monday.

Stanley, a rookie, began his collegiate career at the University of Colorado from 2018 to 2021 before transferring to Iowa State for the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Throughout his collegiate tenure, Stanley showcased his talents with 70 receptions for 820 yards and four touchdowns during his time with the Buffaloes. He earned recognition as a redshirt freshman in 2019, being named to the SB Nation All-Pac-12 freshman team.

During his stint with the Cyclones, Stanley appeared in 23 games, starting nine, and recorded 48 receptions for 559 yards and a touchdown. He is set to wear No. 19 for the Packers, adding depth and potential playmaking ability to their receiving corps.
