DRAFT : Iowa Hawkeyes signed undraft player due to……..

Four players from Iowa were chosen in the 2024 NFL Draft. Cooper DeJean was picked 40th overall by the Philadelphia Eagles, while Erick All was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fourth round. Punter Tory Taylor was selected shortly after by the Chicago Bears. Additionally, Logan Lee, a former Iowa defensive lineman, was chosen in the sixth round by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Former Iowa tight end Steven Stilianos has reached an agreement with the Tennessee Titans. Stilianos, who joined the Hawkeyes in 2022 following a successful tenure at Lafayette College, notably made his mark during his time at Iowa. In the most recent season, he participated in 13 games, securing eight receptions for 96 yards, and notably contributing to the team’s blocking efforts. Stilianos showcased his talents as a versatile player, excelling in both receiving and blocking roles. His most notable statistical season occurred in 2021 at Lafayette College, where he accumulated nine catches for 130 yards while making significant contributions to the team’s running game with his blocking abilities. Additionally, Stilianos earned commendable blocking grades during his tenure with the Hawkeyes, further underscoring his value to the team.

With four former Hawkeyes picked in the 2024 NFL Draft, attention now turns to undrafted former Iowa players hoping to secure NFL spots. Notably, former Iowa defensive lineman Joe Evans has inked a deal with the Baltimore Ravens to transition to outside linebacker, according to Scott Dochterman of The Athletic. Evans boasts a versatile background, having started his career at Iowa as a linebacker before moving to defensive end. During the NFL Draft evaluations, he also showcased skills as a tight end, drawing comparisons to Parker Hesse, who successfully transitioned from college defensive end to NFL tight end.

Evans finished his Iowa career with 134 tackles over the course of five seasons with 35.0 tackles for a loss and 28 sacks. He also forced three fumbles the last three seasons, and was Iowa’s most consistent pass-rusher a year ago.
