REPORT: Former Green Bay Packers WR Officially Secured….

The wide receiver lineup for the Green Bay Packers has seen considerable changes lately, with trades and contract decisions leading to a shift in the position group’s composition.

Recent reports indicate that Allen Lazard, a former Packers wide receiver, might be available for trade, with the New York Jets showing interest in acquiring him to bolster their own receiving corps, according to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic.

Lazard is set to earn $10 million this season, and cutting him would provide the Jets with savings of just over $3 million. Given his less-than-stellar performance in 2023, exploring trade opportunities seems like a logical step.

Despite initial optimism, Lazard’s productivity in 2023 fell short, with only 23 receptions for 311 yards and one touchdown during his time with the Jets.

The Jets’ willingness to trade Lazard before allowing him a full season to play alongside Aaron Rodgers, their quarterback, comes as somewhat of a surprise.

Throughout his tenure playing alongside Rodgers, Lazard has accumulated 170 receptions, 2,262 yards, and 19 touchdowns in 57 games. With the Jets aiming for a rebound from their disappointing 2023 season, maintaining continuity on the field would be advantageous.
