NEWS REPORT: Gunner Stockton, the quarterback for Georgia football, is embarking on a crucial phase…

The Georgia football program is gearing up for the commencement of Spring practice this week, marking a crucial period for teams to assess their roster outlook for the upcoming season and offer an initial glimpse into the abilities of incoming freshmen. Despite the starting quarterback position being secured with Carson Beck’s return, the spring remains significant for players beyond Beck, particularly Gunner Stockton. Although the Bulldogs retained Beck as the starter, the departure of Brock Vandargiff to the transfer portal has elevated Stockton to the unofficial second-string quarterback position. While he may not be in direct contention for the starting role, this spring holds paramount importance for Stockton’s college career development.

Previously limited in in-game experience, Stockton had the opportunity for live reps during the Orange Bowl against Florida State. However, his overall game exposure has been restricted, a common scenario for reserve quarterbacks. Now occupying the second spot on the depth chart, Stockton is poised to receive a substantial number of reps during spring practice, marking a pivotal step in his collegiate journey.
