DONE DAEL: Possible Trade Scenario Involving Justin Fields and the Atlanta Falcons……

The Chicago Bears may attract interest from several quarterback-needy teams if they opt to place Justin Fields on the trading block this offseason. However, the Pittsburgh Steelers seem to have different intentions for their quarterback lineup.

In recent weeks, the Steelers have been considered one of the leading contenders to acquire Fields. ESPN’s Adam Schefter mentioned in early February that head coach Mike Tomlin holds a strong admiration for the Bears quarterback. Additionally, Schefter suggested last week that the Steelers are likely to be involved in discussions to acquire Fields in 2024.

Despite being ranked second in the betting odds for a potential Fields trade, according to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, the Steelers are not actively pursuing such a trade. Instead, they plan to focus on developing their 2021 first-round pick, Kenny Pickett.

According to information shared by The Athletic’s Mike DeFabo on March 4, Russini reported that the Steelers are not actively engaging in trade discussions for Fields. Furthermore, the team is not pursuing free agents Kirk Cousins or Baker Mayfield.

The Steelers could have been an intriguing trade partner for the Bears regarding Fields. Pickett’s performance in his second season in 2023 didn’t offer consistent quarterback play for Pittsburgh. Fields would have provided a different playmaking style, being more dynamic in extending plays and utilizing his mobility.

Moreover, Pittsburgh could have presented an appealing offer with the No. 52 overall pick in the second round, given that Chicago traded away its second-rounder for Montez Sweat on October 31.
