Jordan Love, the quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, is poised to receive a substantial contract that could set a new record for the franchise. According to Michael Ginnitti from Spotrac, projections indicate that Love’s next deal could reach an impressive $200 million over a span of four years, equating to an annual average of $50 million. This estimate significantly surpasses the previous landmark contract signed by Aaron Rodgers in March 2022, which amounted to $150.8 million over three years.
Ginnitti’s analysis highlights Love’s remarkable performance during the 2023 season, indicating that his current one-year contract worth $11 million is insufficient given his contributions. The projected extension includes a substantial $50 million signing bonus and $87.5 million fully guaranteed at signing. Additionally, the contract incorporates sizable roster bonuses, with early vesting for the 2026 and 2027 seasons, thereby enhancing the practical guarantee to $150 million. Notably, Love stands to secure a $40 million raise within the current season under this projection.
These projections underscore the confidence in Love’s potential and his pivotal role in the Packers’ future. As negotiations unfold, the focus remains on securing a deal that reflects Love’s value and solidifies his position as a cornerstone of the franchise’s success.
