Packers finalized an agreement with the 25-year-old player, offering a revised contract.

The Packers have concluded negotiations with the 25-year-old player, presenting a modified contract. Love is now signed for the 2024 season only, following the team’s decision to offer him a revised contract, replacing the fifth-year option typically available to NFL teams with first-round picks.

Looking ahead to 2024, the Packers will undergo significant changes, particularly on the defensive side, with the appointment of Jeff Hafley as defensive coordinator, succeeding Joe Barry. Hafley intends to transition the defensive scheme from a 3-4 to a traditional 4-3 setup.

General Manager Gutekunst expressed optimism about the new coaching staff, praising Hafley’s energy, leadership style, and expectations for the team. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a competitive environment to facilitate player growth, similar to the progress seen on offense in the previous year. Gutekunst acknowledged the ongoing process of player development and the team’s commitment to nurturing talent to achieve success.

Carlson needs to show improvement this season if he wants to stay in Green Bay long-term.

Being an NFL kicker is mostly a thankless job. It seems that most of the time kickers are remembered for their misses much more than their makes. That is exactly the case for Green Bay Packers kicker Anders Carlson following an inconsistent rookie season in 2023.

Carlson led the NFL in missed kicks last season with 11 (six field goals, five extra points). The misses continued in the playoffs, where he shanked a crucial field goal late in the fourth quarter of Green Bay’s playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
