Green Bay Packers: Former WR Davante Adams Trade Price Leaked.

The Green Bay Packers made the tough decision to move on from star wide receiver Davante Adams two off-seasons ago.  The decision came amid Adams’ desire to move on from Green Bay as well as him wanting to play with his college quarterback Derek Carr.

When the Packers traded Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders, they received a 2022 first and second round draft pick in return.  Now the Raiders could be looking to cash in even more than that if they decide to move on from the future hall of fame wide receiver.

Former Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Could Be On The Move Again If Insane Trade Package Is Offered.

Tony Pauline highlighted what it may take to lure Adams away from the Raiders:

The Jets own the 10th pick of Round 1 as well as the 72nd pick (third round), a pair of fourth-round picks (111 and 113), and a pick in Round 6 (187). They are expected to be awarded three compensatory selections. The Jets don’t have a pick in the second, as that was surrendered to the Green Bay Packers as part of the Rodgers trade.

Sources outside the Raiders and Jets tell me a first-round choice and third-round choice in the 2024 draft won’t be enough for the Raiders to move Adams. More likely, the Raiders will demand the Jets’ first-round picks in 2024 and 2025 in return for their All-Pro wideout.

And with desperate needs on the offensive line as we head towards a draft rich with offensive tackles, many question the wisdom of giving away so much early draft capital for a receiver.

It would be shocking to see the Raiders move on from Adams.  It would be just as shocking to see a team offer such an insane trade package for a 31-year-old wide receiver (although he is still one of the best in the league).

From the looks of it, Adams will likely finish his career with the Las Vegas Raiders.  It will be interesting to see if they start over via the draft at the quarterback position in an attempt to get their guy.  Adams will likely have 3-4 high quality years left if he stays healthy.  Plenty of time for Las Vegas to get the most important position in football established.
